Explore The Secret Service

Curt Thomas is a leadership speaker,Β author of 12 books,

facilitator, military officer, former South Carolina State Trooper, former political candidate, and creator of The Secret, Serviceβ„’ Experience.

His life and career span nearly 30 years of cumulative service, including 21 years in the United States Air Force, seven years as a South Carolina State Trooper, and additional experience across public service, healthcare, corporate leadership, consulting, and entrepreneurship.

Those experiences have given Curt a perspective on leadership that is practical, personal, and grounded in one central belief: leadership matters most when it improves the lives of the people we are entrusted to influence.

A CAREER BUILT IN THE REAL WORLD

─────

Curt began serving in the United States Air Force in 1999. His military career has included healthcare, aerospace medicine, aircraft maintenance leadership, logistics, operational leadership, and service as a commissioned officer in the Medical Service Corps.

His seven years as a South Carolina State Trooper placed him in situations where judgment, communication, accountability, and composure mattered every day. His professional path later expanded into corporate management, healthcare administration, consulting, organizational development, and entrepreneurship.

Curt also entered the public arena as a candidate for Mayor of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, an experience that strengthened his appreciation for civic leadership, listening, community engagement, and the responsibility that comes with asking others to believe in a vision.

Together, these chapters shaped the leadership philosophy he brings to his writing, speaking, and work with organizations today.

A SPEAKER WHO STUDIED THE CRAFT

────────────────

Curt has invested years in becoming not only a better leader, but a stronger communicator.

He is a TEDx speaker and TEDx speaker coach, and a past member of the National Speakers Association. His professional speaking development has included training and study with Les Brown, James Malinchak, and Buckley's School of Public Speaking, along with continued work in storytelling, presentation development, audience engagement, and speaker performance.

His approach is conversational, experiential, and built to make people think, participate, and leave with something they can apply.

AUTHOR OF 12 BOOKS

─────

Curt is the author of 12 books covering leadership, responsibility, preparation, persistence, personal development, and service.

His newest book, The Secret, Service: How Small Acts of Service Unlock Deeper Meaning, represents the latest evolution of his thinking about leadership, meaning, and human connection. The philosophy behind the book also inspired The Secret, Serviceβ„’ Experience, his signature experiential platform.

EDUCATION AND CONTINUED GROWTH

─────

Curt earned a Master of Science in Leadership from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and a bachelor's degree from Claflin University. His military and professional education has also included healthcare, leadership, operational management, and organizational development.

He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in strategic leadership.

His body of work also includes original leadership concepts such as The Persistence Effectβ„’, focused on passion, willpower, and purpose, and Vulture Leadershipβ„’, centered on delegation, accountability, developing people, and building organizations that can thrive beyond the presence of one leader.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PLATFORM

Curt is also a father of three sons, and fatherhood has had a profound influence on how he thinks about leadership, responsibility, and legacy.

His journey has included achievement, disappointment, reinvention, uncertainty, and seasons when life did not unfold according to plan. Those experiences gave him a broader definition of success and a deeper appreciation for the influence we have on the people closest to us.

For Curt, leadership is not only about what a person accomplishes. It is also about what others become because that person was present, prepared, and willing to contribute.

WHAT DRIVES THE WORK ?

─────

Curt speaks, writes, and develops leaders because he believes strong leadership should create something beyond results. It should create trust, connection, opportunity, growth, and a sense that people matter.

That belief connects every chapter of his career, from the military and law enforcement to the classroom, the stage, the boardroom, and the books he writes today.

Of all the roles Curt has held, the one he is most proud of is being a father to his three sons and watching each of them choose his own path of service while pursuing the passions that matter most to him.
